Español — Adverbs in -mente
Most Spanish adverbs of manner are built by adding -mente to the feminine form of the adjective, as in rápida → rápidamente.

How it works

Take the feminine singular of the adjective and add -mente: lenta → lentamente, clara → claramente. If the adjective has only one form (fácil, feliz), just add -mente: fácilmente, felizmente. The suffix carries no stress of its own, so any written accent on the adjective is kept: rápida → rápidamente, fácil → fácilmente.

⚠ Note
When two -mente adverbs are coordinated, only the last one keeps the suffix; the first drops -mente and stays in the feminine form: habló lenta y claramente (not lentamente y claramente).
