Polski — Conjugation group II (-ę, -isz)
Group II verbs end in -ę in the first person and -isz/-ysz in the second. It covers many verbs whose stem ends in a soft or hardened consonant, such as robić (robię), mówić and uczyć.
1
How it works
✓ Rule
Drop the -ić/-yć infinitive ending and add the personal endings -ę, -isz, -i, -imy, -icie, -ą (or their y-variants after a hard stem): robić → robię, robisz, robi, robimy, robicie, robią; uczyć → uczę, uczysz, uczy, uczymy, uczycie, uczą.

Examples
| Person | robić (to do) / mówić (to speak) / uczyć (to teach) |
|---|---|
| ja | robię / mówię / uczę |
| ty | robisz / mówisz / uczysz |
| on, ona, ono | robi / mówi / uczy |
| my | robimy / mówimy / uczymy |

Good to know
⚠ Note
The second-person ending is spelled -ysz (not -isz) after the hard-stem consonants cz, sz, ż, rz, dz — hence uczysz, not "uczisz". Similarly the ending appears as -y (uczy, uczymy, uczycie), because Polish never writes i after these letters.
