Deutsch — N-declension (weak masculine nouns)
A small group of masculine nouns follows a special pattern: they add an ending in every case except the nominative singular. This pattern is called the N-declension.

A group of masculine nouns adds -(e)n in every case except the nominative singular: der Student → den/dem/des Studenten; der Junge → den/dem/des Jungen.

Which nouns follow this pattern: masculine nouns ending in -e (der Junge, der Kollege, der Kunde), and those ending in -ist/-ent/-and/-oge/-at (Polizist, Präsident, Doktorand, Biologe, Kandidat), plus der Herr, der Mensch and der Name (Genitiv: des Namens).
