Español — ser, estar and tener
Spanish has two verbs for “to be” — ser and estar — plus tener for “to have”. Getting ser vs estar right is the key early skill.

ser = permanent traits and identity (Soy español, Es médico); estar = states, feelings and location (Estoy cansado, Está en casa). tener = possession and age (Tengo un coche, Tengo 20 años).
