'asseoir' is a very irregular verb with two accepted conjugation patterns (assieds- / assois-); the -ey- forms shown here are the more literary. It is most commonly used reflexively as 's'asseoir' (to sit down). The transitive verb takes 'avoir' (past participle 'assis').
