Auxiliary: sein

'fahren' is a strong verb with the vowel change a→ä in the du/er-forms (du fährst, er fährt). Used intransitively (to go/travel) it takes 'sein'; when transitive (to drive a vehicle, e.g. 'ein Auto fahren') it takes 'haben'.

Ich fahre nach Berlin.

I'm going to Berlin.
