Auxiliary: avoir

Falloir is an impersonal verb: it exists only in the third-person singular 'il' (a dummy subject) and has no imperative. It expresses necessity, usually as 'il faut + infinitif/nom' or 'il faut que + subjonctif'.

Il faut partir maintenant.

We must leave now.
