Auxiliary: haber

Poner is highly irregular: it has -go in the first person present (pongo), the preterite stem pus-, an irregular future/conditional stem (pondr-), and the irregular past participle 'puesto'. Reflexive 'ponerse' means 'to put on' or 'to become'.

Pongo el libro en la mesa.

I put the book on the table.
