to stay / to become

'zostać' is perfective and covers both 'to stay/remain' and 'to become'; it has no present tense and its present-form conjugation expresses the simple future. The imperfective counterparts are 'zostawać' and 'stawać się'.

Postanowiłem zostać w domu.
